Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the mash bill for this Willett release?
Unlike the standard Willett Pot Still Reserve, this specific cask strength release features a custom wheated mash bill consisting of 65% corn, 20% wheat, and 15% malted barley. Replacing traditional rye with wheat yields a significantly softer, sweeter, and more dessert-forward flavor profile.

How often is this bourbon released?
The Willett Pot Still Reserve Cask Strength is a semi-annual release. It is exclusively launched twice a year to coincide with the Spring and Fall Equinoxes, celebrating the distinct seasonal shifts in Kentucky.

What does “115 Barrel Entry Proof” mean?
This bourbon features a 115 barrel entry proof, meaning the newly distilled clear spirit was exactly 115 proof when it was pumped into the charred white oak barrels for aging. This traditional, lower entry proof allows the liquid to extract richer, sweeter wood sugars and complex flavors during the maturation process.
